Christmas Meeting - December 2011

The December meeting is the BOGI fun night of the year and is a special night for all of our members. We will start with a BBQ at 6:30 PM and have our usual heads and tails, BOGI clinic and a monster Christmas raffle. Prizes will be awarded in the Christmas Hat Parade and Trivia Quiz. There will also be entertainment and random give always throughout the night. The highlight will be a special secret guest (not the man in red). Members are asked to bring a gift of toiletries for "Mamma Renes", helping the homeless and a plate to share for supper. When members pay their entry fee of $2 they will receive one free raffle ticket (there will be no raffle tickets on sale at the December meeting). To reflect the additional costs of this meeting, the entry fee for non-members will be $10.

Guest Speaker for November will be Leonie Shanahan, who has a passion for health especially for children. Ten years ago Leonie decided to change the eating habits of children with positive actions by setting up the Edible School Garden Programs in Schools where children have the hands on experience.

Guest Speaker for October will be Leyland Minter telling us the how, where and why on the work and results he has obtained with the monoatomic elements that he has been able to extract from the sea. Leyland will bring along a number of his trials/experiments with potted plants/seedlings. Leyland recently spoke about this at the Nursery Industry Annual Conference and it created a lot of interest.
