GUEST SPEAKER FOR JULY 2017 MEETING

Our July Speaker will be Dan Willmann. Dan has been with Rocky Point Mulching for over 10 years and has a wealth of knowledge on organic gardening and sustainability. He has been involved in all facets of the business; from the research and development of products for the retail market, production and manufacturing, logistics, sales and marketing, and the diversification of the business moving forward.

He will discuss the steps Rocky Point Mulching takes for both commercial and retail production in organic gardening products, and how they aim to improve their business.

GUEST SPEAKER FOR JUNE 2017 MEETING

Scott Sheppard from AgNova Technologies will do a presentation on the FRUITION® Fruit Fly Trap which is a revolutionary lure and trap for the egg-laying female Queensland fruit fly. Fruition Fruit Fly Trap was launched in early October 2016 at Griffith University’s Nathan Campus. Griffith University and agricultural product company AgNova Technologies collaborated to produce Fruition, the nation’s first non-toxic response to fruit flies.

GUEST SPEAKER FOR MAY 2017 MEETING

This is the meeting when you will have an opportunity to express your gratitude for the effort members of the BOGI Executive, Committee and Office Bearers have contributed to ‘Your’ club to keep it running smoothly while satisfying the requirements of as many members as possible using organic methods to grow our plants.

We do not hassle or put pressure on any member to take on any role in our club as volunteers are usually easy to find when required.

GUEST SPEAKER FOR APRIL 2017 MEETING

Our April guest speaker will be Guy Lewington, the Chief Executive Officer of Mt Sylvia Soil Conditioners. Guy will tell us about the Soil Conditioners produced by their company and the research they have carried out into the uses and effectiveness of these products. Guy has an honours degree in Geology, and diplomas in Mineral Economics and Organic Agriculture. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
