Welcome to the Brisbane Organic Growers Inc. (BOGI) website where you can find details about the club, including how to JOIN the club. There is also information about organic gardening including content tailored to the Brisbane, Queensland area.

Our general meetings are held at the Peace Hall in Windsor on the first Thursday of every month except Janurary.

 


2013 BOGI Fair

The 2013 BOGI Fair was held at the Peace Hall, 102 McDonald Road Windsor, on Sunday the 13th of October. BOGI would sincerely like to thank everyone who helped to make the day such a success.

In particular our thanks to Greg James of Farmer's Choice Organics, Lakshmi Kerr of Food Connect and Phil Ryan of Phil's Organics who helped to judge the produce and preserves/ cakes grown and made by BOGI members. Thanks also to the stallholders and members who provided presentations on the day, as well as Linda Brennan of Ecobotanica. Many of our stallholders also generously provided raffle and other prizes, which we gratefully acknowledge. A full listing of stall holders is provided below:

Our April guest speaker will be Clair Levander sharing with us some of her life journey in growing and where ‘growing organically’ fitted into this.

This month Penny Mack will present "GROW IT USE IT" - Growing, Harvesting, Preserving, Pickling, Drying & Seed Saving

‘We have a decent size vegetable patch, several fruit trees, a small cottage garden and a few small native gardens. Since moving to Samford we have become more self-sufficient and are trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

GUEST SPEAKER FOR FEBRUARY 2013 MEETING

Guest Speaker will be Matthew Bourke from Brisbane City Council providing information about growing on the verge and other council related matters. Bring along all those questions to which you want answers.
