Our general meetings are held at the Peace Hall in Windsor on the first Thursday of every month except Janurary.

 


GUEST SPEAKER FOR NOVEMBER 2012 MEETING

Our guest speaker will be Joe Wilde, Nursery Manager of Greening Australia. The Gap. Joe will give us a short history of Greening Australia. Tell us about The Gap nursery (what we do, what we stock, our role in environmental repair). He will also cover helpful topics such as knowing your land and knowing your plants, developing and reconnecting our relationship with the earth and our communities, transforming mindscapes to transform landscapes and a little encouraging story about a hummingbird.

GUEST SPEAKER FOR OCTOBER 2012 MEETING

Two topics for the October meeting:-

Graeme Crombie will present "Bohemia, Transylvania and the Land of King Zog - Chasing Spring across Europe".

The BOGI Shed has a range of organic products to make your garden more productive. Bruce Ham will discuss the range of products and their application and benefits. Products include fertilizers, soil conditioners, mineral supplements and organic pest controls.

Unfortunately, Carmel Harris is unexpectedly unable to do her presentation for 6 Sep. Instead we will be presenting members contributions on Spring Gardening.

 

Japan Week 2012

The Japanese Consulate in Brisbane is running a free ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) workshop on Wednesday, 22nd of August at the QUT Art Museum (Brisbane CBD) as part of Japan Week 2012 (a weeklong celebration of Japanese culture in south-east Queensland). There is also a day of cultural events at the Japanese gardens at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens on Sunday August 19.
