Guest Speaker Change:

Unfortunately, our guest speaker for 2 Feb is no longer available.  But, this has given us an opportunity to benefit from the wealth of knowledge of our own members.  The night will be themed "Getting Started" and we will hear from Bruce Ham on the structure of your soil, Tom Ross on time planning your planting, George Allen on the basics of fruit tree growing and Phil Ryan will talk to us about our "BOGI Treasures".  We will also introduce some of the rest of our "BOGI Brains Trust" who know all about pests, chooks, nutrients, garden gadgets, community gardens, compost, raising seedlings, worm farms, books, organic certification, permaculture and more, so it should be a great way to start the year.

Dennis Baker, a soil scientist and President of Queensland Recycled Organics Council (QROC) Inc, will tell us how QROC assists industry, government, and the general public to achieve sustainable composting and organic recycling solutions and using the waste stream to produce high quality organic products.
